Several weeks ago, I thought I knew whom I was for. I definitely knew whom I didn’t favor. And late the night of the Iowa caucuses, I heard a speech and found my interest piqued. A few days later, I heard Barack Obama utter these words on the evening of the New Hampshire primary and I was mesmerized. Words and ideas are powerful. I’ve been a cynic far too long … tonight, idealism creeps within me, anew.
I don’t care who you vote for tomorrow. Just go vote.

If I'd been told I wouldn't be voting for the first female Democratic Presidential candidate who had a serious shot - who I believed to be competent, compassionate, and not-crazy, I'd never have believed it. Then, Sen. Obama came along and talked like the world I know, a place where we can work and live together and where we talk truthfully about the challenges we face and how we can overcome them. We recognize our real differences but don't buy into separation and reaction-ism. I could go on, but you're already bored. Suffice it to say, I am HOPEful that we can move forward, and I believe Sen. Obama can do that. Regardless, though, I'm with Eric. There are too many great folks running on both "sides" not to take advantage of one of our greatest freedoms and responsibilities - VOTE!! ;)
Listen to ALL the candidates, even though they are dropping out. There will be running mates needing to be selected, Cabinet posts to fill as well. Don't let idealism take over reality. Idealism only works in a perfect world where EVERYONE thinks the same. That is not America. We welcome all ideas, change and ways of thinking. Its freedom and that is what this country is based on, NOT IDEALISM. Glad everyone is voting and caring. That is reality. Good posts.
