A Family Journey

Life is getting pretty exciting these days at the Moore Manse. Eric has begun a journey that will in the end, be a very good one, but in the short term, will feel a bit like a roller coaster. I invite you to join him on his adventure as he blogs about it on a different site: The Minority Report. In short, it is Eric's journey with bariatric surgery.

This will contiue to be a blog for the family things in life - a big focus on the girls, of course. But do know that Eric's journey is not done in solitude as it will truly be a family experience. Therefore, we will write about how it affects the family and our lived life, in part, over here. But if you want the nitty-gritty on liquid diets, surgery prep, and life afterwards, you will need to visit his site.

For now, know that as a family, not too much has changed. At least not for the girls. They know Daddy is having surgery and they recognize that he isn't eating with us at meal times, but that seems to be the extent of it. In terms of our life together, things have already changed a bit for Eric and I - hopefully, just temporarily so. Meals that used to be cooked together are now cooked by one. The socialization and connection we have shared over meals on our days off are "on hold" until a few weeks post surgery. We know this is just the short-term -- life on the otherside will normalize a bit, while at the same time offering plenty of opportunities for sharing a new and healthier lifestyle with our girls. And perhaps knowing it is short-term, along with knowing a healthier life is on the other side, is what makes it bearable for everyone concerned.

Until then, join Eric over on his site and stay tuned here for updates on home and family here. Know that we appreciate all the love and support you send our direction - we are so blessed by each of you.
