The Last Hoorah

Last weekend, we went to St. Louis for Mitchell's first birthday party. Since it was my last weekend before going back to work, and really, our only vacation this summer, we decided to make a full weekend of it -- a last hoorah for the summer. My folks were still in town, staying at Sarah's house and we came in to help celebrate my nephew's big birthday (you can see him here).

Norah and Mitchell had great fun playing on opposite sides of the patio door and the Lovegreen estate. I don't know what kind of noises were happening on Mitchell's side of the door, but Norah was squealing and giggling in delight as she played with her cousin.

We had great fun at the party -- it was Olympic themed and held outside on a GORGEOUS August day (gorgeous and August are rarely used in the same sentence, but I digress... ). Norah hung out with Grandma and blew bubbles while Josie worked the circuit, blowing bubbles and entertaining the young children that were present.

After spending time with family, we took the girls to Faust Park so Norah could take her first carousel ride. Josie, who adores carousels was very eager to share this part of life with Norah.

Following the carousel, there was plenty of time for playing in the park before heading back home.

It was a good, albeit fast, time away. Now look closely at the pictures... you can't tell Norah decided to cut three molars in three days, can you?! Ahh... the magic of pictures. Hopefully we will forget THAT memory and remember the good ones represented here!

On our side of the patio door, it was banging on the glass and happy yells (not high pitched enough for squeals). Who knew a patio door was such a great place to play?
