Nothing fancy been going on lately -- hence the pause in blog posts. May is a busy month professionally -- full of confirmation services, graduation recognitions, youth worship services, etc. After all the professional activities are done, we will end the month with Josie's dance recital -- what a joy!! This is when we once again give thanks for having kids who are fairly laid back and can handle the scheduling chaos.
Josie is finishing up her kindergarten year. They took a trip to the dairy farm recently -- even got to milk a cow. Wish I had pictures of THAT to share with you!!
Instead, I have Norah pictures. Norah is beginning to be quite the little girl. She is walking everywhere and wants to be with her big sister all the time. This picture was taken before church one day -- Eric thought she was looking especially "Little Girl."
Besides her sister, Norah LOVES Lucy the Kitty. Sometimes, this is the only time Eric can get Norah to sit on his lap -- by coercing the cat there first.
Laundry day is a fun time for Norah. Usually, she carries random pieces of clothing around the house to be found during a scavenger hunt for said articles much later in the day. This time, the clothes weren't nearly as much fun as the empty laundry basket.
And I know I have posted a lot lately about what Norah has done when I haven't been looking. Have I mentioned she made it to the top of the stairs one day before we even blinked? Anyway... surprisingly, she came out of those events unscathed. Today, however, with me watching, this happened:
No, she didn't fall down the stairs. She simply tripped. Tripped right into the corner of the speaker. And seriously... talk about your slow-motion moments. I saw it happen. I heard her head hit. I wait for that eternally long pause between the hit and the scream. I am sure it all took just a second or two, but in that slow-motion moment, it was an eternity. I swooped her up, rushed to get the Tylenol and ice -- just like I am sure my mom did for me as a toddler (skinned knees and bumped heads were my specialty) -- and then I called my mom. I believe I said something to the effects of, "I broke the baby!" Ahh well, she stopped crying quickly and was back to playing in no time. That doesn't mean I wasn't still trying to chase her down with the ice-pack. You try icing a baby's head -- much easier said than done. And tonight... tonight I get to take her to church looking like this. Oh, I can't imagine what they are going to say!!
So like I said... we are just livin' life over here.... bumps and all!
