Being "Momma"

This Mother's Day, I took a few moments to begin recounting all the things I love about being a mom. This list is by no means exhaustive, or in any kind of order, but it speaks of my heart.

What this mom loves about being a mom:

sticky kisses
the smell of freshly cleaned heads after a bath
being a witness to the wonder that comes with learning
being privy to the prayers of our 6-year-old
nose rubs
the deep steady breathing of a sleeping babe
long walks and long talks
"girls nights"
the contagious laughter of our daughters
being able to invoke the contagious laughter...
baby feet
jammie-days
teaching our girls about God's love and grace
holding hands -- both big and small
being able to see the world through the innocence of a child's eyes
blanket forts
home-made cards and gifts
spontaneous "I love you-s"
baby kisses
dandelion bouquets
morning snuggles
rocking the babe in the quiet dark of night
muddy feet
toothless grins
being able to "kiss it and make it better"
being called "Momma"
