Greetings from the land of insurance adjusters, medical exameners, and sore muscles! It has been a crazy week... and truly, hard to believe it hasn't even been a full week. Monday started out pretty rotten, but thankfully, that was the low point for the week. Norah seems to be no worse for wear after the events on Monday. Me, well I am still quite sore and can really only sit and function well for the first half of the day. After that, it is time to lay down and give my back a rest. Today's adventure was a panel of 19 x-rays to rule out any disk issues. We will know more about how the x-rays panned out next week. The car is currently at the body shop being estimated. The jury is still out on whether it is a total loss or if it will be repaired. Lots to sort out yet and it will take a lot of time. We are ever thankful for the prayers, thoughts, and helping hands of those friends and family who have reached out this week. Without them, Josie would have had peanut butter and Halloween candy at every meal, the girls would never be bathed, and our house would be a wreck. Thank you all!
The girls help to keep us sane in the midst of all this. Too easily we can get pulled into the psychological game of "what if" as we think about Monday's events. What if I were running late. What if I were just a minute earlier. What if... but that game will drive you nuts, so we look to the girls. Our girls who are full of laughter, innocence, life, and silliness. Norah is on the move. She can race across the room at break-neck speeds. She can also be lazy and relaxed. These moments we call her "baby boudoir" moments:
Norah has also managed to do something at 8 months which Josie was not able to do -- still sleep in the cradle. Josie might have made it 4 months in the cradle before she couldn't be in it anymore. Norah, on the other hand, still adores the cradle and takes her daily naps in it. Good thing Papa cut some decorative cut-outs in it so Norah could really get comfy in it.
And finally, one more fun pic for the books. We have had some cold mornings lately and we have had to pull out the coats and hats. Here is Norah in the car all bundled up and ready to face the day.
