First of Three

So the girls are tucked quietly in bed. Norah is asleep downstairs in her cradle as Eric and I watch Alton Brown on television. Josie, after having a full and good day, is tucked into bed upstairs. Lights out, blankets tucked up around her.... until all of a sudden, she bounds out of bed and with excitement in her voice hollers down the stairs, "Momma, Daddy... guess what!!" Of course, we know "what," but we also know to play along. '"What?" we holler back. "I pulled my tooth out!!" she squeals. I mean seriously... the excitement is bubbling out of her like an exploding soda and it appears as though she will never come back down off this high. So she comes down stairs, flashes a grin, and we trot off to rinse out her mouth and rinse off the tooth. Good thing G'ma finished making the Tooth Fairy pillow! This is Josie's third tooth to fall out -- her two bottom teeth fell out last winter. This is the first of three teeth that are loose... her other front tooth and another bottom one will follow in the coming weeks. I have a feeling we are done with corn-on-the-cob for this season!! Guess I better buy stock in Mac-n-Cheese and spaghetti.

And as we celebrate the loosing of teeth, let us remember the one who has not a one:

Surely her teeth are soon to arrive... perhaps that should be the subject of a new poll... who will get teeth first? Will Josie's new front tooth arrive before or after Norah's first tooth pops through??

Hi Sarah,
This is Dana, Sara Kirkendall's other neice. Beautiful girls you have. I remember losing a tooth when we visited you guys when I was Josie's age. Where does the time go?
