The Dreaded Shots

Two months. Hard to believe it, but the littlest Moore is now two months old. At two months of age, we have a lot more smiles, alert eyes, some recognition of the fact we seem to be important people in her life, and of course, a trip to the doctor for the two month check up. What we learned at that appt is that Norah is completely average. Hmmm... well, not average, but yes, average. On the height and weight chart, she borders the 50% mark -- as compared to her big sister who was NEVER below 90-95%. What a difference! So while she is perfectly average in her height in weight, she is far from average in anything else. Other things that happened at this appt -- 4 immunizations. Poor girl -- she got double teamed by the nurses to get her four shots -- two at a time in each leg. Having done it with Josie, I was better prepared emotionally, but it still didn't stop a tear or two from escaping. There are just no words to describe the infant screams that are the result of immunizations. The things we do in the name of health... For those of you wondering what immunizations are on the table these days... here ya go...
DPaT: diptheria, tetanus, pertussis
Polio
Prevnar/Pneumococcal
Comvax: Hib and Hep B

You can learn more about these vaccines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Today, Josie and I had a "girls day out" while we went to the quilt show hosted by Linn Memorial UMC. LOTS of beautiful quilts laid out through out the sanctuary. Here, Josie is standing by the baby quilts that Grandma made for her and Norah.

And here are just some pictures of the pretty quilts we saw at the show:

All else in the world of the Moore's is moving along well. Josie is preparing for an upcoming dance recital -- yes, we will have pics of those to share when the time comes. I go back to work May 15 -- between now and then, we have to find our "Plan C" for Norah's summer child care. Both plans A and B have fallen through on us leaving us with not much time to come up with a Plan C. So yes... life keeps moving on and keeps us busy. We wouldn't want it any other way!

Just a couple more pics to share:

How come "the mom" isn't in any of these picutres? Perhaps I should write the "minority leader." Pretty quilts.
