And the Doctor says....

After a busy week of doctors appts and lots of blood tests, today we met once more with our doc at the Fayette Medical Clinic to find out that indeed, Norah is on the up and up!! That is to say, her billirubin counts are on the downward slope. We didn't take a level today, but based on the levels from the last test last week, we are in the pink!! Last Wednesday, her levels were at 16.4 -- down from 16.8 on Monday. But by Friday, those levels were down to the 13 marker!! Still high, but going the right direction! So for now, we have been released from our 3x/week appts and we will go back next Monday to make sure Norah is still headed in the right direction. All evidence leads us to believe she will be... the whites of her eyes are actually white, she is eating like a champ and even gaining weight!! At this rate, she might reach her Feb. 20th birth weight near or on her actual due date (March 15)!! All in all, of all the issues to face with an infant, we know this is a mild one... and we are thankful. But even still, we are ready to have it behind us so we can start working into what a "normal routine" might be for our family.

And just because I know I cannot post a blog without some kind of picture, here is a pic of Josie exploring the new and exciting world of infant toys through the eyes of a preschooler. Josie had no idea we were watching her do this... which makes it that much more fun!

I think it's a good thing Josie doesn't know how funny she is. I'm still laughing from this weekend!

I'm so happy things are getting better at your house with the jaundice and eating. We've been there, done that with Kaiya because she, too, was a preemie. And look at her now! What a beautiful family you have. I can't wait until I can see little Norah in person!
