What do you get when you put three children, 4 grandparents, 2 parents, and an aunt and an uncle together? A great birthday bash for two fabulous girls! This weekend we had a lot of family over to the house to help celebrate both Josie and Norah's birthdays. It was a great day made up of good people, yummy food, and lots of laughs from the children. Among other goals of birthday celebrations, there was a goal of getting some good pics of the cousins to mail to my folks in Florida. Well, that didn't exactly go so well. You can check out the video story of it at my sister's blog. One picture that sort-of sums up the whole ordeal of the picture taking:
Now, what we learned today, is that Norah had an excuse -- she was cutting a tooth. Today, now that the tooth is trough, she is MUCH happier!
Aside from the picture taking ordeal, we had your normal birthday festivities... food, presents, cake, and candles.
Norah and Mitchell played well together -- though she did try to steal all of Mitchell's toys.
Presents were a huge success... as they seem to be for any child. Norah enjoyed climbing the tower of presents, while Josie enjoyed ripping them open. Josie loved all of her gifts, but is especially taken by her new American Girl doll, Molly.
Norah slept through the food part of the party, so her cake happened tonight. To say that this child has discovered her sweet tooth would be an understatement. The cake was only so-so, but that icing... she was all about the icing!
Over all, a good time has been had by all! The party may be over, but there is celebrating yet to come... Norah turns one on Wednesday!

You know...some of us are just "private" partiers and some of us are just more social! Anyway, it looks like fun was had by all - eventually! Norah is my kinda cake person. I always go for the icing to the dismay of my family ... they all think its "gross & disgusting & sickningly sweet" but hey! to each her own!!!
